Kazakh governor replaced for 'family reasons'
The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, today announced the central bank governor, Grigory Marchenko, has been removed from his post "for family reasons", and replaced with 44-year old deputy prime minister Kairat Kelimbetov.
The 54-year old Marchenko was in his second stint heading up the central bank, which started in January 2009. He was previously central bank governor from October 1999 to January 2004, when he left to serve as deputy prime minister and then as the president's
