Bank of England proposes new stress test regime

The Bank of England today unveiled the framework for its new stress-testing regime, which market participants can respond to before the final design is debuted in 2014.

The Bank explained in a discussion paper that it will use the tests to generate a "quantitative, forward-looking assessment of the capital adequacy of the UK banking system and individual institutions within it".
