Plosser says more 'can and should be done' to aid Fed transparency

The president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Charles Plosser, on April 12 discussed ways to improve the transparency of policy decisions at the Fed.

He lauded recent steps towards greater transparency taken by the Fed as "important", but said  "more can and should be done".

The US Federal Reserve has made public communication improvements in recent years. For example, Fed chairman, Ben Bernanke has for the first time conducted press conferences after meetings of the Federal Open
