Fed launches Twitter account
The Federal Reserve on March 14 announced it had created an official Twitter account as part of its drive to increase accessibility and availability of Fed news.
The account name is @federalreserve and selected announcements will be taken from the Fed's website – which remains the primary channel of online communication – and 'tweeted' via the social media site.
Initially, tweets will include items such as press releases, speeches, testimony, reports to the Congress, the Monthly Report on Credit
