Israel completes appointments to new rate-setting body

Three academics have been confirmed as external members to Bank of Israel's new Monetary Committee more than 16 months after the board was first created, paving the way for an inaugural meeting in October.

On Sunday, the Bank of Israel announced that Reuben Gronau, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Rafi Melnick, a professor in economics and a former deputy director of research at the Bank of Israel; and Alex Cukierman, a professor at Tel Aviv University, were confirmed by Israel
