Papandreou appeals for German support
Greece's prime minister George Papandreou on Tuesday tried to gain the support of German business leaders in a last-ditch attempt to save his country from the worst of the sovereign debt crisis.
At a gathering of business people in Berlin, Papandreou said the contribution from German industries to Greece was "crucial", and that any German funding to help resolve the crisis would be seen as an investment for future success, rather than past failures.
