PboC adviser calls for urgent reform in the West

Li Daokui, an adviser to the People's Bank of China (PboC), on Tuesday said the ongoing debt crisis in Europe and the US was a cause for concern in China and urged the West to sort out its economic problems.

In an interview with the BBC, Li expressed concern at the lack of economic reforms in the US and Europe and called on these nations to focus on their economic problems rather than on those of emerging markets.

He said the current political set-up in the West was not the most suitable system
