CIC adopts more bullish investment strategy

China's sovereign wealth fund raised its investment in equities and alternative investments in 2010 as part of a new strategy to hold longer-term assets.

The China Investment Corporation's (CIC) Annual Report published on Tuesday shows the sovereign wealth fund significantly reduced its holdings in cash and more than doubled the number of investments in its global portfolio, increasing its exposure to real estate, infrastructure and private equity.

As of December 31, 2010, the CIC held assets
