Treasury Committee’s Tyrie calls for reform of BoE board

Andrew Tyrie, the chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, on Monday called for urgent reform of governance practices at the Bank of England to keep pace with the central bank's enhanced regulatory powers.

In comments confirmed by a spokesperson, Tyrie said it was "clear that the current governance structure of the Bank of England and its court is inadequate for the scale of responsibilities that it will soon have in regulating the banking system and the wider economy".
