IMF deputy managing director Portugal to leave Fund

Murilo Portugal, a deputy managing director at the IMF, will leave the Fund during the first quarter of the year.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director of the IMF, on Wednesday said Portugal would stay on at the Fund as special adviser until early March but would relinquish his position as deputy managing director with immediate effect in order to be considered for the vacant role of president of the Brazilian Banking Federation, also known as Febraban. Febraban represents 119 banking
