Analysts dub IMF commitments to Asia redundant

Analysts have dismissed IMF commitments to improve its surveillance of the East Asian region.

At a press conference in Daejeon, South Korea on Tuesday, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director of the IMF, announced commitments to Asian economies, which he labeled the "Daejeon Deliverables", to strengthen the IMF's partnership with countries in the region.
