Central banks should oversee systemic risk

Central banks should collaborate with other government agencies to guard against systemic risk build-up, according to the results of a CentralBanking.com poll on the subject.

Nearly 36% of respondents thought central banks could go it alone on this task, but the majority- 58.8%- thought other government bodies were essential to achieving systemic stability. Four and a half per cent wanted nothing to with systemic risk, saying it would interfere with central banks' core task maintaining price
