ECB attacks Brussels over hedge-fund rules

The European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday warned that the European Union's (EU) proposals to regulate hedge funds would unfairly disadvantage the industry.

The ECB said in an opinion published on Thursday that it supported initiatives to regulate the industry, but warned that the EU's proposals should be in line with international standards.
