Zim finance minister promises new central bank law
Zimbabwe's finance minister, Tendai Biti, has said that his bill to reform the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) will curtail the dominance of the central bank and bring an end to its forays into quasi-fiscal activities when it is passed.
The Zimbabwean, an international newspaper, reported that Biti was adamant his bill would pass into law by the end of the month. He made these remarks while taping a television discussion series which has not been aired, the newspaper said.
