Norway's central bank reduces interest rates

Norges Bank reduced interest rates on Wednesday by 1 percent to 3 percent. This was the sixth time this year that Norway's central bank lowered interest rates.

Norges Bank decided to reduce the interest rate on banks' deposits with Norges Bank, the sight deposit rate, by 1.00 percentage point to 3.00 percent, effective from August 14. The interest rate on banks' overnight loans will also be reduced by a full percentage point.
