Gov't hopes for flexibility in BOJ policy

JAPAN - The government hopes the Bank of Japan will be flexible when deciding monetary policy, minister for economic and fiscal policy Heizo Takenaka said Friday.

"As stated in reform plans, the government hopes the Bank of Japan will be flexible with its policy. We continue to hold such expectations," Takenaka said at a regular press conference.

Takenaka added he is planning to attend the BOJ's next policy board meeting on 18 December and 19.
