Eurosystem for ex reserves down 0.7 bn

The European Central Bank said net foreign currency reserves in the euro system fell 0.7 bln eur to 154.9 bln in the week ending 14 January.

Banknotes in circulation declined by 6.2 bln eur to 491.0 bln, the ECB said.

The gold position of the euro system fell by 43 mln eur to 125.67 bln eur.

The euro system includes the ECB and the national central banks of the euro zone.
