BoC wants reformed securities regulation

In a report published on Wednesday 25 June the Bank of Canada called for reform of its securities regulator, according to the Ottawa Business Journal, warning on the inefficiencies of a system broken up among about a dozen regional regulators.

The Bank of Canada warned Wednesday that the business of Bay Street may head south of the border if Canada's patchwork quilt of securities regulation is not reformed.

In the report, Canada's central bank warned that public
