Devos to become BIS general counsel

Diego Devos will succeed Daniel Lefort as the Bank for International Settlements' (BIS) general counsel later this year.

The BIS said on Wednesday that Devos, now deputy general counsel, would take up the role in October.

As head of the legal service, Devos will serve as a member of the BIS's executive committee, responsible for the strategy and policy direction of the Basel-based institution.

Before joining the BIS in 2006, Devos was a deputy general counsel at Euroclear Bank. He joined
