Eurosystem currency reserves up by 1.3bn eur

GERMANY - The European Central Bank said eurosystem net foreign currency reserves rose 1.3 bln eur to 257.6 bln in the week ending June 21.

The rise was due to an increase of 3.7 bln eur in receivables from the IMF, whereas other holdings in foreign currency decreased by 2.5 bln eur on account of customer and portfolio transactions, the ECB said.

Banknotes in circulation rose by 0.9 bln eur to 304.5 bln eur, the ECB said.

The gold position of the eurosystem fell by 36 mln eur to 139.378 bln eur
