South Korean central bank to open office in China

SOUTH KOREA - The Bank of Korea has agreed to set up a representative office in Beijing, China, with its Chinese counterpart, the People's Bank of China, the Korean central bank said Thursday.

BOK sources said that Dai Xianglong, the Chinese central bank governor, pledged to BOK Governor Park Seung that he would positively support the establishment of BOK's Beijing office at their meeting on Monday.

Park also offered to invite high-ranking Chinese officials to visit Korea as a way to expand
