With a show of hands and just one abstention, MEPs from the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee this morning endorsed the nomination of Lucas PAPADEMOS as the new ECB Vice-President. The committee's recommendation which reads "the nominee's record demonstrates that Mr Papademos is an excellent candidate in terms of the main requirements laid down in the Treaty, namely personal integrity and recognised standing and professional experience
