Greenspan to appear before Senate panel Apr 20

Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is due to testify on the state of the U.S. banking industry before the Senate Banking Committee on April 20, a panel aide said on Wednesday. 14 April

Greenspan will be joined by bank regulators including Comptroller of the Currency John Hawke, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Donald Powell and Office of Thrift Supervision Director James Gilleran, the aide said.

The appearance is the rescheduling of a hearing postponed from Nov 5.
