Bank of Japan's Ueda reiterates ultra-loose policy

Bank of Japan policy board member Kazuo Ueda said in a speech that the BoJ could maintain its ultra-loose monetary policy even after deflation is overcome, if it is judged necessary to maintain the policy.

In a speech to business leaders in Okayama prefecture, Ueda reiterated that the central bank will continue its quantitative easing policy until prices, as measured by the nationwide core consumer price index (CPI), stabilize at or above zero.

Ueda added that the BoJ may keep its ultra
