Italy considers banking supervision transfer

The Italian parliament will examine the transfer of competition supervision in the banking sector to the antitrust agency from the Bank of Italy, the daily MF said.

According to the daily, the senator Gianpiero Cantoni will present an amendment to a bill on financial supervision currently being examined by parliament to enact the transfer.

Cantoni's amendment is expected to be supported by economy minister Giulio Tremonti, it added.
