Kosovo banking authority becomes central bank

According to news agency KosovaLive, UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) head Joachim Ruecker signed an agreement on Wednesday 20 September by which the Banking and Payment Authority of Kosova becomes the Central Banking Authority of Kosova.

This was announced during the regular UNMIK press conference, the report said, adding that the new regulation aims to increase the authority of the BPK institution.

With the transformation of the BPK, the new board is expected to consist of
