UAE's anti-money laundering laws praised

Governor of the UAE central bank Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwaidi has said the UAE's anti-money laundering law has helped reduce serious cases since it was passed in 2002.

"There has been a big change since the anti-money laundering law was passed in 2002. We have seen a great reduction in terms of serious suspicious transactions that are reported," he was quoted as saying by a Gulf News report.

While admitting that there had been some cases, he said they were not major ones.
