Ghana to be HQ of West African Monetary Institute

Ghana has been selected as the location for the headquarters of the West African Monetary Institute that is to work towards the establishment of the West African Central Bank. The decision was the outcome of the just-ended third general meeting of the "convergent council" of the Second Monetary Zone - which is the ministerial body charged with the responsibility for supervising the processes leading to the establishment of the zone - in Banjul, Gambia.
