BoT governor to leave post for Cabinet seat

Pridiyathorn Devakula will leave his post as Bank of Thailand governor to serve as both deputy premier and finance minister in a new Cabinet due to be sworn Monday 9 October.

Pridiyathorn said he will propose the name of a new governor at the first Cabinet meeting to be held later this week and that the central bank's monetary policy meeting will proceed as scheduled on 19 October.
