Korea's financial watchdog to get Beijing office

South Korea's top financial watchdog will open an office in Beijing by January next year, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) said Wednesday 8 December.

"We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese central bank and regulators there to set up the office," said Choi Myung-hee, the chief of international cooperation department at the FSS said, adding that the official opening ceremony will be held in January.
