Brown's proposals for reform of the IMF

UK - UK finance minister Gordon Brown says the IMF should be reformed and given more scope to pass judgement on member countries' economies. Brown's proposals encompass the separation of the IMF's lending and surveillance functions, and providing the latter with more independence.

In an interview with the Financial Times Brown said that
