Carr's role settled at RBNZ

NEW ZEALAND - Rod Carr has been confirmed as Acting Governor of the Reserve Bank for the next six months, or until a permanent appointment has been made.

Dr Carr has been acting as governor since the resignation of Don Brash on 26 April.

Minister of Finance Michael Cullen also said yesterday that prominent businessman Hugh Fletcher, will replace Christchurch-based Sir Gil Simpson as a non-executive director on the board of the Reserve Bank.

Dr Cullen announced the five-year appointment yesterday
