Japan gov't to work with BOJ to tackle deflation

JAPAN - The Japanese government's key policy-setting panel has decided that the government will coordinate policies with the Bank of Japan in an effort to come up with solutions to tackling persistent deflation, according to a memo from the panel's meeting this week.

Members of the Council On Economic and Fiscal Policy proposed at their meeting Tuesday to have senior officials at the Ministry of Finance, Financial Services Agency, Cabinet Office and BOJ meet periodically to coordinate policies
