Russian gov't submits changes to central bank law

RUSSIA - The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma revisions for the second reading of amendments to the law on the Central Bank, State Duma banking committee head Alexander Shokhin said on Thursday.

He said the Duma on Wednesday received a government letter signed by First Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Ignatyev.

The lower house of parliament will vote on the amendments in the second reading no later than 22 February, Shokhin said.
