Decision on Noyer successor possible in March

GERMANY - A decision on the successor to European Central Bank Vice President Christian Noyer is possible at the forthcoming EU summit in March, the Boersen-Zeitung reports, citing EU currency affairs commissioner Pedro Solbes.

The decision might also come later, Solbes told the Boersen-Zeitung.

Solbes is keen that candidates from countries not represented on the current ECB board are considered, the report says.

Noyer's four-year term of office comes to an end at the end of May.
