IMF promises more efforts on crisis prevention

IMF ANNUAL REPORT 2001 - International Monetary Fund Managing Director Horst Koehler yesterday, Wednesday, reiterated that the international lender will focus more in the coming months and years on preventing economic crises.

"Building on the progress to date, we intend to work even harder in the coming year to put crisis prevention and financial market issues at the center of the IMF's activities," Koehler said in the institution's annual report.
