West African bank raid suspect arrested

BURKINO FASO - Police have arrested the chief suspect in a $3m robbery at the West African central bank. The man detained was a security guard at the central bank.

Prosper Sia Popo, a security official at the bank at the time of the robbery, was arrested in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso on Monday.

Mr Popo has confessed to helping organise the raid but says he was the only bank employee involved. He had been on the run since the robbery in Ivory Coast on 27 August. He has refused to reveal the
