UK Treasury criticised over Bank of England posts

UK - The Treasury has been rebuked for failing to follow proper procedures for appointments to the Bank of England's governing body.

Dame Rennie Fritchie, the independent commissioner for public appointments, criticised the Treasury for "lack of proper performance assessments", "lack of proper interviews" and "the parachuting in of candidates".

The failings - in three of four areas highlighted by her office in its annual report - puts the Treasury bottom of the class among the departments audited
