ECB's Noyer says euro not pressuring markets

Christian Noyer, governor of the Bank of France and member of the ECB's governing council, said at an international conference on Monday 21 March that the euro is not exerting any pressure on global financial markets in spite of its growing influence and strength.

"Our main goal is to avoid disorderly movements (in the financial markets) and ensure changes are implemented in an orderly way," he said in response to a question as to the growing popularity of the euro and its possible impact on
