Takenaka says govt, BOJ should share policy goal

Japanese Economics and Financial Services Minister Heizo Takenaka on Thursday called on the Bank of Japan to foster more growth in money supply and said the government and central bank should share a policy goal.

"It's necessary for the BOJ to create a situation in which money supply grows," Takenaka said in parliament.

"As for policy goals, the BOJ and government must share a policy goal," he said. But he added that measures to achieve such a goal should be left up to the BOJ.
