National Bank of Azerbaijan proposes name change

AZERBAIJAN - The Azeri Parliament is preparing to ask the government for the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) to be renamed the Central bank of Azerbaijan the chairman of the parliamentary committee for economic policy, Sattar Safarov has said.

The NBA has had its name since 1992 when it was made the central bank of the country from a former sub-division of the USSR State Bank.

According to Sattar Safarov a motion will be proposed for a draft amendment to the law of the National Bank of
