Ministers concerned over settlement plan - report

European finance ministers have raised doubts about the European Central Bank's plan to provide its own settlement system for eurozone securities transactions, the Financial Times reported Monday 22 January.

The plan was on the agenda for an EU finance ministers' meeting on Jan 30 but has been withdrawn after the ECB was unable to answer detailed questions about how it would work when officials met in Brussels last week, the FT report said.
