Brazil c bank criticised for paranoia

BRAZIL - The Central Bank has come under criticism for giving too much priority to its inflation targets. On Tuesday, Rio de Janeiro federal university economics professor Reinaldo Goncalves said "a anti-inflation paranoia" has been created, leaving aside things such as job creation and the balance of the public accounts.

Central Bank international affairs director Daniel Gleizer responded by saying that it is essential to meet the inflation targets to ensure macroeconomic stability, thus
