World Bank names two new country directors

US - The World Bank yesterday, 30 July, named two new country directors for Thailand and the Philippines.

Robert Vance Pulley has been named as country director for the Philippines. He succeeds Vinay Bhargava, who is returning to Washington DC after five years in the position.

Pulley was World Bank director for east Asia and the Pacific, a post he has held for the last three years.

The World Bank has appointed Ian Porter as country director for Thailand. He starts on 1 August, and will be based in
