Two in five financial stability divisions have staff shortage

FTE employees average under 30 workers across responding institutions

Around 40% of central bank financial stability departments lack sufficient workers to carry out daily tasks, the Financial Stability Benchmarks 2024 find.

Although the majority (61.3%) of 31 participating institutions say they have adequate staffing, the remainder (12 or 38.7%) say they do not. The share is substantially higher than the 25% that said they have staffing insufficiency in the 2023 benchmark.
