The Communication Benchmarks 2023 reveal evolving trends in central banks’ efforts to inform and interact with the public.

As was the case last year, media relations continued to be the top task for central bank’s communication teams. Internal communications and social media were the second and third biggest jobs for communication staff.

Central banks on average conducted 58% of their external communications via traditional media, as opposed to 42% via social media. Rather surprisingly
