Most communications teams outsource tasks to external providers

Outsourcing more common among central banks in emerging markets

It is common for central banks’ communication teams to outsource some of their tasks to external providers, data from the Communications Benchmarks 2023 shows. And this practice tends to be more prevalent in central banks in emerging market economies.

Of 40 central banks that took part in the benchmarks, 80% (32 respondents) said they outsource, while 20% said they do not.

Among central banks from emerging market economies, 86% said they outsource work, compared with 74% of those in advanced
