Communications often involved at early stages of central bank policy

Most central banks say comms teams are involved in early planning stage of policy decisions

Most communications teams at central banks surveyed for the Communications Benchmarks 2021 said they are part of the beginning phases of policy decision-making.

Fourteen out of 33 (42%) central banks said they get involved in the early planning stages of policy, 11 (33%) become involved during policy meetings and eight (24%) in the later stages, after policy decisions have been made. Percentages do not add up 100 due to rounding.
