Zhou Xiaochuan has been recognised for his lifetime’s achievements in reshaping the Chinese economy, receiving a 2019 Central Banking award.
The former People’s Bank of China (PBoC) governor, who stepped down in 2018, was instrumental in delivering bold reforms to the central bank and steering the institution though some volatile times.
