María J Nieto
María J Nieto is a senior adviser at the Bank of Spain, with a particular expertise in financial stability, financial regulation and crisis management. Nieto has co-operated as an adviser for the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and she is member of the Advisory Panel of the Central Banking Training Advisory Board. Nieto previously worked for the European Central Bank, the Council of Economic Advisers to the Spanish president, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the IMF. She has an MBA (finance) from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a PhD cum laude from the Complutense University of Madrid. Nieto received the Fundación Ramón Areces Scholarship to pursue graduate studies at UCLA.
